We scanned 50 roofing companies in Denver, Colorado across ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude. The results confirm what we found in Austin: roofing remains one of the most AI-invisible industries. But Denver tells a different story about which AI platforms are paying attention.

Only 3 out of 50 companies appeared in any AI recommendation at all, and all three were recognized exclusively by Gemini. ChatGPT and Claude returned zero mentions from our entire sample.

Methodology

This study is based on structured AI visibility scans conducted in March 2026.

• Sample: 50 roofing companies in Denver, Colorado (top 50 by Google review count)
• Sourcing: companies identified via Google Places API, deduplicated by domain and confirmed for active web presence
• Models tested: ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude
• Prompts: natural-language questions about Denver roofing services (see below), with no prompt engineering or specialty modifiers
• Scoring: each company received a visibility score (0-100) based on appearance frequency, mention quality, and cross-model consistency

The Questions We Asked AI

We crafted questions that reflect how real homeowners ask AI for roofing help, whether they need storm damage repairs, a full replacement, or just want to compare options.

Every prompt was sent to all three AI platforms exactly as written. Responses were analyzed for specific company mentions, recommendation context, and level of detail.

Overall Visibility Findings

Appearance Rate by Model Count

Of the 50 roofing companies tested, here is how many appeared in AI responses:

47 companies (94%) received zero AI mentions. All 3 visible companies appeared exclusively in Gemini. ChatGPT and Claude returned no mentions from our sample at all, making Denver roofing a Gemini-only story.

How Each AI Model Sees the Market

In a stark departure from Austin, where all 3 models recognized roofing companies, Denver roofing is entirely a single-model story:

Gemini was the sole model to recognize any Denver roofer, mentioning Elite Roofing & Solar, Interstate Roofing, and New Roof Plus. ChatGPT and Claude were completely blank. This is the opposite of Austin, where ChatGPT and Claude both recognized companies while Gemini led.

Visibility Score Distribution

The distribution is almost entirely concentrated at zero. With an average score of 1/100, roofing has the lowest visibility of any industry we have studied.

The pattern holds yet again: Google review counts have no bearing on whether AI recommends a roofing company.

Multi-Model Disagreement

With ChatGPT and Claude returning zero mentions and Gemini recognizing 3 companies, the 67% disagreement rate reflects a fundamental split: two platforms see nothing while one sees something.

The disagreement example above tells the full story: ChatGPT and Claude have no Denver roofers in their awareness at all. Gemini is the only gateway to AI recommendations for this industry in Denver.

Competitive Density

Across all AI responses, we identified 44 unique companies mentioned by at least one model. Even though most of our top-50 sample was invisible, AI still recommended companies during each prompt. It just recommended different ones that were not in our sample.

Most Frequently Recommended Companies

Unlike Austin, where Longhorn Roofing dominated with 343 mentions, Denver's competitor landscape is more evenly distributed. Centennial Roofing, Colorado Roof Toppers, and Mile High Roofing all tied at 150 mentions each, suggesting AI has no single dominant roofer in Denver.

AI’s Narrow Lens

According to industry data, there are approximately 600 roofing contractors and companies operating in the Denver metro area. Across all AI responses in this study, the models collectively referenced just 44 unique company names.

What This Means for Roofing Companies

The data paints a clear picture:

• Denver roofing is a Gemini-only story. Unlike Austin, where multiple AI models recognized roofers, Denver's results came exclusively from Gemini. ChatGPT and Claude are completely blind to Denver roofing companies.
• The scores are lower than Austin. Denver's top roofer scored just 22/100 compared to Austin's top score of 64. This suggests Denver roofing companies have even less presence in AI training data.
• Reviews are irrelevant here too. Companies with 840 reviews scored zero while those with 635 scored highest. The pattern is consistent across both cities.
• The opportunity is enormous. With 94% invisibility and the highest score at just 22, any roofer that breaks through to AI recognition in Denver would immediately dominate the visibility landscape.
• Platform diversification matters. Being visible on only one AI model is fragile. A Gemini model update could eliminate a company's entire AI presence overnight.
